About

I have a broad experience with teaching UX/UI foundational knowledge to students.

I employ teaching methods UX using research platforms essential for effective UX/UI learning, such as user personas, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and iterating.

I teach fundamental UX/UI principles of information architecture, user interface patterns, wireframing, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing methodologies making students showcase elegant and user friendly UX/UI projects.

I have a sincere passion for teaching and mentoring students, giving them the needed foundational user-centered design knowledge and inspiring them to excel in UX/UI design, giving them the desire to excel in the UX/UI profession.

I have a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, and Management from the National University, cementing my leadership and managerial capabilities and affording projects I manage with solid leadership traits using the most current leadership principles.

I possess extensive UX/Web/UI design and front-end development experience in agile and waterfall processes. With a Masters in Professional and Technical Communication focused on User-Centered Design from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul University, I fully understand the whole life cycle of a desktop application and web-based software/site development project.

As an experienced Certified SAFe Agilist, Certified ScrumMaster, and Certified Scrum Product Owner, I can efficiently work well in an Agile/Scrum-oriented environment.

Cornell University 02/2024 to Current: eCornell Online UI/UX Course Facilitator

  • Take the role of an in-course expert to support and guide learners as they work through their courses.
  • Interact with learners through asynchronous online discussions and through scheduled live virtual Q&A sessions by providing experience-informed feedback on graded projects.
  • Engage daily in the course with the students to demonstrate meaningful presence.

  • Conducted UX Design Boot Camps for Cognizant employees as part of their employee career development program introducing the basic domain knowledge of User-Centered Design to Cognizant employees who interact most with the UX team.
  • Conducted TechSmith Camtasia training to enhance Cognizant team members’ video creation skillset to create a Facets Video Tutorial from scratch to finish.
  • Conducted Scrum Product Owner and ScrumMaster workshops to introduce Cognizant team members to the basics of Scrum/Agile philosophies for use in the Agile Scrum Teams.
  • Prepared course syllabi, homework assignments, grading, and handouts for training, seminars, and boot camps.

Works

I have conducted several in-house seminars, training courses, and boot camps for User-Centered Design, Camtasia, and Scrum/Agile Methodologies to lay the groundwork for further skills development in computer science, data science, graphic design, or motion graphics. I target entrepreneurs, artists, and other interested individuals who can use the online presence to help their ideas reach a larger audience. 1. UX Research. I can identify target users, create user personas, and gather data to make informed design decisions. The latter requires user testing and involves:

  • Creating user personas
  • Carrying out user interviews
  • Conducting card sorting sessions
  • Creating user evaluation scripts
  • Conducting user experience testings

2. Collaboration. I realize that collaborating with subject matter experts, product managers, and product owners is an opportunity to work in other areas and apply what I’ve learned with different people leads to ensure the resulting product meets both business goals and user expectations.
